Another enlightening Ali quote sums up what we are asking you to do quite nicely. It's time to pay a bit of rent and do yourself as well as others less fortunate than yourself a service.
The service you will be doing yourself is in terms of your overall fitness and we have already mentioned that by just taking part you are helping to change the lives of scores of children. If you were fortunate enough to be at either of the previous 3 Hedge Fund Fight Nites then you will have seen 16 brave guys do just this. The time has come to put out the call for 16 more of you come forward and accept the challenge of 6 minutes in the ring toe-to-toe with an aggressor. Trust us it is an extremely invigorating experience and one you will talk about for the rest of your life. In previous years the vast majority of fighters had never raised a fist in anger before but we put them through a good few months of training to prepare them for the night. Similarly this year we will provide a full and structured training programme from now until the event to make sure you are ready. Cityboxer has years of experience in preparing raw white collar boxers and will be providing all the training infrastructure. Let us bullet point some of the main benefits:
- Membership of Cityboxer up until the event.
- Use of Cityboxer's 1st class boxing gym 1minute from Southwark tube station and 5 minutes from Waterloo.
- Structured training programme from now until the event.
- Access to experienced boxing trainers.
- On the night you will be matched with your opponent on the basis of weight and ability. There is no sport in a mis-match.
- The opportunity to take a unique challenge and through sheer sweat help raise considerable sums for three worthy causes.
But all this comes with a Government Health Warning:
- This is a serious commitment and should not be taken lightly. If past experience is anything to go by there will be plenty of sweat and tears shed between now and the end of April... and don't forget the blood.
- You are not guaranteed a fight. If we can't match you then we can't put you in the ring. However, alternative arrangements will be made to ensure your training is not in vain and you will offered to fight in an alternative show. The training is a lot of fun and a challenge in itself.
- This will be one of the toughest physical challenges you will face in your life. However, don't ever forget that whatever physical condition you are in now, you are capable of doing this. We won't put you in the ring unless you are fit enough to do so. The ages fighting have ranged from early 20's right up to a 58 year old. Age is no barrier.
