Cityboxer is the brainchild of former pro boxing coach Mark Burford. "Burf" as he likes to be known, has grown the cityboxer brand rapidly since it's opening in febuary 2004. In that time cityboxer has started a corporate events, corporate travel and online tv station, aswell as become the premier partner to the three biggest whitecollar boxing shows in the city of London.

But Burf is under no delusions as to why some of the cities leading figures travel to his personal training club, the legendary Ring boxing club, Blackfriars. 'It's the training, the psychology of the sport,the applied training programmes,quite simply, it's an unbelievably rewarding sport, when it's delivered through the cityboxer system'. That system, aswell as the clubs friendly culture, are the elements that make the cityboxer training system such a rewarding 'experience'. However, Burf readily acknowledges that boxing isn't for everyone.'It's a very individualistic sport,very demanding on lot's of levels. Don't forget, you can play football and you can play rugby....But you can't play boxing!
